Greetings Sorors and Friends,

Welcome to the website for the Stockton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We are excited that you have taken the time to join us and welcome you to peruse the site and learn more about our chapter and the community we serve.

Founded in 1913, by 22 phenomenal trendsetters who envisioned a sisterhood whose purpose was to serve our communities through established programs. Our Founders first act of public service occurred when they stepped out on faith and took a stand for social justice by marching with suffragettes. We have continued in our Founders footsteps by serving our local communities worldwide for 108 years and counting. We currently have more than 350,000 members initiated and 1,058 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan, Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Republic of Korea, and Canada.

On April 24, 1976, thirteen visionary women charted the Stockton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. to serve the unmet needs in the local community. For 45 years, our chapter has upheld our Founders legacy by serving the communities in Stockton, Lodi, Ripon, Salida, and Modesto (North of Carpenter Road) in alignment with our Sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

  • Economic Development

  • Educational Development

  • International Awareness and Involvement

  • Physical and Mental Health

  • Political Awareness and Involvement

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to making impact in the communities we serve through our Sorority’s initiatives, partnerships with other area organizations, and providing scholarships to area youth. With the limitations on in-person events imposed by the pandemic, many of our events to raise money for scholarships are virtual. We hope that our supporters will continue to contribute to the education of our young people and welcome donations to our scholarship program.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and learn more about our chapter. Please visit our site regularly for upcoming events.

Sincerely,

Alisa Douglas

President, Stockton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
